Friday 25th March - Bought by Christ

We have had a really lovely day and I am feeling much better, definitely the one where I am feeling physically the best. We slept really well and got one of the best nights sleep we have had in 2 1/2 weeks. Anne has done lots around the house and in the garden and I have made sure that I have rested. Friends have briefly been round to see us which was lovely and a great time of fellowship. Anne has been out to kids work and we are both going to have an early night.

I was reading 1 Peter 1 v 17 - 21 with a friend and it was a real encouragement to know Christ has already bought us. It says 'And if you call on him as father who judges impartially according to each ones deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your father not with perishable things such as gold or silver but with the precious blood of of Christ like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.'

Verse for the day: Romans 1 - 3

Prayer for the day: Praise the Lord for our salvation that has already been bought for us by Christ. Praise the Lord for a great day and for our bodies to sleep well and have another good day tomorrow. Pray for the continued success and working of the chemo. Pray for a good day tomorrow and for us to be an encouragement. Pray for the sleep, physical and mental states of our families. Pray for people to come to Christ.

    All at Lawrence are sending you our love and thoughts. Everyone keeps asking after you and thinking about you. We follow all that you are going through and admire your strength so much. We hope all goes well with the chemo and soon you will be well enough to come and visit us. We have a school allotment now, it is very therapeutic to just go and potter about there. 1Q have planted lots of veggies and hope to have a good harvest later this year - it is the sort of thing you would love to be involved with, when you are up to it, you must come and see it.
