Saturday 2nd April - Let us boast in Christ.

Good evening. We have enjoyed a relaxed day with friends and family. We slept well and woke well rested. We visited Marks and Spencers where everyone seemed to have descended. My mum and brother came for lunch. A friend then came to visit us this afternoon which was lovely. We have played games and watched some sport and are settling in for a well rested evening. We are feeling mentally well and are enjoying spending time with family. 1 Corinthians 1 v26-31 says 'Brothers and sisters think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and despised things and the things that are not to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him. It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written "Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord". Let us boast in the Lord and realise this world is not all there is and we have God as our strength and portion. Verse for the day: Romans 6 Prayer for the day: Pray for our attitude in Christ and for to us to really trust in Christ. Pray for the continued success and working of the Chemotherapy and for God to take the cancer from my body. Pray for our sleep to be good again tonight and for my physical state to continue to be well enough to cope with the every day rigours of life. Pray for our families that the Lord would be their rock and fortress; helping to deal with all they have too. Pray for the people who we witness too and for people to come to Christ.

    I am so pleased that you have shared precious time with friends and family this weekend, especially your wonderful mum, Ruth. Please forgive me for high-jacking your blog this Mothering Sunday to extend my deepest love and thanks to her for:

    - the incomparable job that she has done throughout half her life in raising such a wonderful, loving and inspiration son as you, Glen (and I am certain that your brothers are an equal credit to her love, guidance and example);

    and

    - for directly and indirectly providing me (a woman of almost exactly her age) with motherly love, guidance and example which I find truly humbling and wonderful.

    Thank you, Almighty Lord, for brining Glen and Anne into my life, and for all the awesome changes that they have brought to it.

    All my very best love to Glen, Anne, Ruth and all else who love them as I do.
